LIFE ON IONA

Tarte Tatin

This recipe is just fantastic and so easy it's worth trying. If you're having a whole bunch of people over for lunch you can take the pressure off and make the pastry the day before and then the rest is a doddle.

Gluten Free Lemon Olive Oil Cake

I am not much one for desserts, strange considering my Namesake and great aunt, Rosie, would politely endure a meal as a means of getting stuck into the pudding course. Jamie Goode's top 10 South African wines of 2014

Iona Chardonnay 2013 Elgin. Elgin has a talent for Chardonnay. I tried this wine, which in the UK is stocked by Marks & Spencer, and was blown away by it. I gave it a good write up, and then a week later found out it had been awarded five stars by Platter. So I wasn't alone in my admiration. Iona has stepped up a gear in the 2013 vintage, for sure.

20 best white wines for Christmas

Iona Sauvignon Blanc, Elgin, South Africa 2013. South African sauvignon blanc just gets better and better, and Andrew Gunn's pin-sharp Iona exemplifies the country's stylistic stance between bold Kiwi and refined Loire in his cool-climate vineyards in Elgin, with the elderflower and grassiness presented with real verve and nerve.
