Iona Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Fragrance of pure white grapefruit, intense tropical fruit, ripe gooseberry and fleshy kiwi fruit over-lay Iona's distinctive herbal and floral undertones. The palate is keenly balanced showing cut green apples and lime marmalade followed by great minerality and length.

The wine shows cool climate freshness and a surprising intensity, with spice and gentle game notes. It is layered wit fragrant sweet, ripe cherry and blackerry flavours, with underlying almond and white pepper tones. The palate is seamless, sleek and polished, with firm, ripe tannins. Drinking well now, but is suitable for cellaring for at least 10 years.
